Lockdown - 2

My lock down has been very great, well because I get to spend more time with my siblings and my mom, we went out a few times, we celebrated 3 birthdays during the lock down.

My thoughts about the changes - we have to wear masks everywhere we go so we could protect ourselves against the VIRUS,  social distancing is also good because you don't who might or not have the VIRUS, in my opinion wearing masks are annoying because we can't breathe probably.

Since we only have 8 more days till school is finished for the year, I will miss my friends because I'll be going to Selwyn College next year and not coming back to Tamaki College. I will miss some of my teachers and friends very much.

The rest of the year for my family and I would look like a very tiring year for us or maybe a joyful year because we will be visiting lots of places like a lot. We will be going out shopping every single day, visiting places like the beach or the pools.

Rozaidah Ro August - current events

Jacinda Ardern apologises for New Zealand 'dawn raids' on Pasifika people in 1970s | New Zealand | The GuardianNew Zealand apologizes for historic raids on Pacific people Jacinda Ardern New Zealand Pacific Island American Wellington | The Independent

Exhibition: The Dawn Raids - Educate to Liberate - OurAucklandDawn Raids – Testing The Proverbial Waters

Jacinda Adern is apologising to the Pacific Community because of the Dawn Raids. During the 1960’s-1970’s within New Zealand there was an implemented policy that gave the government permission to do “random checks” among the pacific community. Jacinda Ardern had the mat draped over her by several of her ministers and MPs, including Pacific Peoples Minister Aupito William Sio, Social Development Minister Carmel Sepuloni and MP Anahila Kanongata'a-Suisuiki. The ceremony took place in the Auckland Town Hall.

This affected the Pacific community by making them come out from their homes and taking them to prison and making them stay overnight till the first flight arrived and take them back to their origin of birth.

I never knew anything about the dawn raids or where it happened and why it happened. This is something new that I've learnt at the start of last week, I learnt that the the dawn raids affected most the Pacific community and people.

  • The Pacific community already forgiven Jacinda Adern.

  • The Pacific people were kicked out and sent back to their home place if you overstay your visa.

Rozaidah Reflection on Social Studies Exam

Today I sat a 2 hour Social study Exam in the Auditorium, There were 2 sections of the exam there was an essay about the government and there were also a skills section on current events.

How did you feel about the Exam? I felt pretty good and proud of my self for trying hard.

What went well? sitting on the chair probably and focusing on my own work and getting it done.

Did you face any difficulties during the Exam? I was quite nerve wracking because I didn't know if I put in the right answers or the wrong answer.

How can you prepare for your next exam to do better? I should study more and complete any kind of assessments I get.
